Once
again very
hard to decide this months winner - The photo of the Venusta Orchard
spider in its web really appealed to me as did all of Rich Swanner's
beautiful photos. However this month's Web of the Month
Award goes to Rich Swanner's beautiful photo of the web with the
rain droplets on it. Congratulations Rich!! |

some sort. The lighting is a little off, but the web came out fairly

Sept, 2005:
Hi, Earlier this year we purchased property in Hammondsport,
NY. Recently, early in the morning, we have seen hundreds of
spider webs. I took some pictures and they can be seen at:
http://members1.clubphoto.com/pj51267/3698537/guest.phtml
If you or anyone would like to use them, I would be happy to share.
I have no idea what type of spider they are, but as you walk the
path near them, they usually jump down from the center of the
web. They appear to be black with yellow stripes. :)

Just came across your web-site in trying to identify an
unusual looking spider we found in our yard tonight. Learned it was
a black & yellow argiope, thank you very much! : ) She was so
beautiful and her web was unusual, so I took a couple of pictures
which I happily share with you. Sad to learn she will not live long,
though. Thank you very much for your site! Jenny

Hi, I have had a spider living on the roof outside my front
door here in England for quite some time. Last night, I saw it
weaving it's web and was so interested that I thought I'd take
a photo of it. I was just looking up some info about spiders
and I came across your page and saw your "web of the month"
feature so I though I'd email you the picture I took as it
turned out rather well. Dave

Hi Glen! This is Joe (again) from Upstate New York. I just
wanted to send you a couple of pics of this Banded Argiope Spider
and her beautiful web covered with dew and thought that it would
have a chance of winning the Web of the Month Award.
